The T&A is part of Bradford and District Newspapers which publishes nine titles - a mixture of paid-for daily and weekly tabloids and broad-sheets, and weekly free-sheets - covering Bradford, the Aire and Wharfe valleys and Craven. Bradford & District Newspapers was officially founded in 1898 when self-made millionaire and wool magnate Sir James Hill bought the Bradford Daily Telegraph. Later he added the Yorkshire Observer and Keighley News to the organisation. In December 1996 Bradford & District Newspapers was bought by the Newsquest media group.
